Carpet Bowls

Village Carpet Bowls Club

The Club has now been established in Ruishton since1998

We are well established as a friendly community club of 55 members at present, and we meet at the Ruishton Village Hall twice a week.

Tuesday Evening between 7pm – 9pm, and Friday Afternoon between 2pm – 4pm we play Carpet Bowls, and socialise with a half time tea/coffee.

(Carpet Bowls should not be confused with short mat bowls which is a different game with different size mat, and bowls)

(There is a summer break each year, when we don’t play in July & August.)

You can become a member from as young as 10yrs old accompanied by an adult, so you don’t have to be in your mature years to play this type of bowls!
We are not in any Leagues, so our teams are drawn from members attending on the day.

You don’t have to supply any equipment; the club have three carpet available for any one session, with all the appropriate number of bowls, and equipment.
You can play as a guest for a small fee of £2 for each session for up to four weeks, after which time an annual membership fee of £6 will be required, which also entitles you to a smaller fee of £1.50 per session, and a subsidised fee for our annual outing.
(Fee’s quoted as at April 2017)

Membership is not restricted to this parish, and some members are from nearby areas. You just need the approval of a club committee member after your trial period.

Come along bring your friends, and give it a try, you are sure of a friendly welcome, on a Tuesday, or Friday or both.

Note: Recently due to the popularity of our club there may be session restrictions from time to time, when we reach maximum capacity on all three mats.
