Book Club

Read our book of the month chosen as a good read, sometimes a seasonal choice i.e. 'A Christmas Carol' or something light and amusing i.e. Garrison Keillor's 'Leaving Home'. Virtual meetings are well attended, so for more information contact Peter, 443160.

C.A.R.D.S. (Amature Acting Group)

CARDS normally host two shows each year,  a Summer Show and a Christmas show in Ruishton
Village Hall, Tickets for 2019 summer show was £12 and included a ploughman’s supper and

Carpet Bowles

Church Fete

Various fundraising events are organised throughout the year, these are well attended social events. The Church Fete usually takes place in early June, at the Old Vicarage (opposite the church). For more details, goto the parish chirches website ...Link

Classic Motorcycle Club

The Taunton Classic Motorcycle Club meet at the Ruishton Inn on the last Thursday of the month. If you have and interest in motorcycles then come along to a meeting.

Companion Dog Show

This takes place on village day, in the main field. Taunton and District Canine Association run the event. Judging starts at 2.00pm approx.
All breeds of dogs welcome but must be older than 6 months.

Flower Show

The Flower Show takes place in July, as part of the annual Village Day celibrations. Prizes can be won across the seven sections which comprise of over 100 classes. Cubs, Brownies, Guides & Scouts

Girlguiding in Ruishton: We meet at the village hall, all girls are welcome to come. We take part in a huge range of activities, develop skills, share experiences, make new friends.

Rainbows, aged 5-7 years. Mondays 5.15 – 6.15pm. (Hazel Ellis 01823412485)

Health Walks

(example) HEALTH WALKS FOR JUNE (2019) PLEASE NOTE that there will be only ONE health walk in June. This will be on June 5th from Creech Canal car park at the usual time of 10.30 am. (example) Our next VILLAGE HALL QUIZ will be on Saturday December 7th (2019) at 7.30pm so wonder what will be sprung on us this time especially with Christmas coming up. Mike Marshall is our quiz master. £2 per person, tables of 4. Bring your own drinks, coffee and tea and some snacks will be available to buy at half time.

Village Day

(example) All last year’s stall holders have been contacted and are coming again, plus we have some new stalls. If you would like a stall please give me a ring. We have a problem that Alan who does the inflatable equipment has hurt his back and cannot come this year, very disappointing as this leaves an empty area, if any one has ideas for a replacement then it must have its own insurance as our insurance will only cover normal activities and not bouncy castles etc. Thanks to our sponsors Roy Bulgin Ruishton, Paul of the Carpet Shop Ilminster and Scott & Karl of S&K Windows Ltd.
